This is going to be a very short post, but the good news to words ratio is very, high. Some of you know and some of you don’t that this time last year I was having cardiac issues.. Today I had an appointment with my electrophysiologist (AKA “The Arrhythmia Guy”) and he said I didn’t have to come back to see him any more. Dr. Jon Christian Hayes at St. Elizabeth Edgewood Arrhythmia Center did the procedure that straightened things out, and I’m always going to be grateful. I cannot say enough good things about the Center. They’re incredibly professional, but also extremely nice. I’m grateful for what they’ve done for me.
I still weigh too much and my blood pressure is probably higher than it needs to be. I’m making small steps to deal with both those things. After February 12th my time becomes my own. My replacement at work has been hired and I’ll spend the next two weeks training him. Then it’s on to the next adventure. The loss of a regular paycheck is kind of terrifying, but only in a sphincter-crushing way. I’m more excited than anything else. This whole writing-everyday thing has been awesome for me. I’m looking forward to being creative in the things I work on again. I’ve missed it terribly.
It feels very odd to be looking positively at an uncertain future. But I am. I’m just going to go with it.
