Watch UC’s construction history at Bing maps

I was fooling around at Bing Maps and went to look at the UC campus
when I noticed something kind of cool. They’re using PhotoSynth (or some
variation) to create 3-D composites, but the shots were taken when parts of Main Street and Varsity Village were still under construction. You
can see buildings appear and disappear and see the seasons change.

You can try it yourself here.  I found it works best if you pick a single view, then
rotate around it. It’s kind of hit-and-miss whether you’ll catch
different eras at a particular spot, but when you do it’s kind of

Nothing profound, but a nice distraction.
